I spent years as a forensic medical interview for law enforcement. These were very hard cases often resulting in not only child abuse but also animal cruelty cases as well. I would prepare my cases for prosecution both in Baltimore as well as North Carolina.
Unfortunately, animals were often left with no good solutions. This left me with a haunting feeling, I vowed to make a difference some day for animal welfare. I was a lobbyist for the schnauzer rescue in North Carolina fighting to end puppy mills within our state for years.
Golden retrievers are my love, I also volunteered for senior rescue groups providing hospice care for senior goldens.
I always knew about the horrific cruelty in China. In May of 2019 I saw this poor golden online in China who was a distemper survivor taken in by the Shanghai Monks. Meeso, my golden couldn't use his hind legs and clearly had no chance in China.
I made the best decision to adopt Meeso in June of 2019. After Meeso came home to me I decided to start my nonprofit, China Rescue Dogs. To date China Rescue Dogs has saved over 2400 dogs from China placing them in loving homes both within the US and Canada.
What I didn't realize is that because I adopted Meeso who couldn't walk, the Monks blessed him to help save animals in China from the terrifying slaughterhouses and meat trade industry.
Because of Meeso, China Rescue Dogs helped so many animals find loving homes. Last year in early August of 2022 Patty Larson, Co-Founder of Rue's Kennel @ Lax and I decided there was a need to open a CDC approved Animal Care Center at LAX.
Our organization is the first in our nation as a nonprofit rescue based facility giving hope globally to animals and their families around the world.
Much like Meeso, my now walking miracle golden, Rue's Kennels is also a miracle founded out of love and faith by 2 women who never gave up to help save animals around our world.
